Paula Appelhans is an accomplished legal practitioner with a diverse background of legal and policy experience.

Paula has extensive experience in family law, employment law, regulatory advice and policy experience. Paula has international experience with revising legislation with the Ministry of Health in Viet Nam and providing guidance to buildf legal services in the Kingdom of Tonga to victims of family violence. Her academic and professional contributions extend to research on gender; budget analysis on health care; and disability rights, including co-authoring chapters for Laos PDR, Myanmar and Singapore on the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in ASEAN countries.

Paula’s multifaceted expertise is complemented by her passion for writing children’s books, travel, hiking, and advocacy for social justice. Paula was recently elected as a non-executive Board member for American Football Victoria.
