Patrick is an experienced commercial lawyer and a highly effective litigator. He is passionate, skilful, and persuasive and has the ability to rapidly understand risk and explain complex legal and evidentiary issues in simple and easy to understand terms. He works in Jason Quah’s team at SLF Lawyers and regularly acts on behalf of clients in complex and high-value commercial disputes in the Supreme Court of Victoria and the Federal Court of Australia. Patrick has particular experience in construction, corporate and commercial disputes, insolvency, debt recoveries and securities enforcement.

Patrick is a member of the Building Dispute Practitioners’ Society. His building practice includes acting for a diverse client base ranging from builders and sub-contractors, developers, engineers, architects, and estate agents. He is also a member of the Australian Restructuring, Insolvency & Turnaround Association and regularly acts on behalf of liquidators, trustees, lenders, directors, and shareholders. Patrick undertook the Australian Restructuring, Insolvency & Turnaround Association specialist qualification, the Advanced Certification which he completed in 2023 (with Distinction). Patrick holds postgraduate degrees from the University of Melbourne where he completed a Master of Laws (with First Class Honours) by coursework with a focus on commercial, equity, intellectual property, and construction subjects. He also holds a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the Australian National University. As a student, Patrick has been the recipient of a number of academic awards and scholarships.

He was appointed in 2026 as a committee member of the Law Institute of Victoria, Courts Practice Committee. Patrick uses his strong technical legal knowledge and skills, and his commercial and practical experience in identifying an effective strategy to achieve optimal outcomes for his clients. He is particularly mindful of the time and cost involved in protracted litigation, and his balanced approach ensures that his clients achieve commercial results. His empathetic manner and genuine care for his clients’ interests form part of the many reasons why his clients continue to return to him for commercial legal advice. Outside of work, Patrick enjoys travelling and exploring trail hikes throughout Australia.
